I’m pleased to share my latest mixed water media painting, "Ritual." This 30” x 22” piece captures a quiet moment between two women seated closely outdoors beneath a cottonwood tree. One woman, dressed in a flowing blue tunic with long hair cascading down her back, gently braids the hair of the other, who wears a golden-yellow layered dress that opens softly like petals. Their calm connection is at the heart of the scene, framed by soft, blended colors that bring warmth and stillness to the composition. Outlining the figures in black adds a sense of time folding, bridging past and present. Inspired by the everyday rituals that strengthen bonds in Native communities, this piece honors the care and connection found in simple, shared moments.
